Dear ÿÈÕ´óÈü Community,
On behalf of the ÿÈÕ´óÈü Board of Trustees, I am honored to announce that Michael A.L. Balboni ’81, JD, has been appointed as the 11th President of ÿÈÕ´óÈü. His term will officially commence on Monday, June 1, 2026.
Following a comprehensive national search that evaluated a diverse pool of top-tier leaders from across the country, it became clear that the ideal visionary to lead Adelphi in its next chapter was already deeply woven into the fabric of our community.

Michael A.L. Balboni ‘81, JD has been appointed as the University’s 11th president, effective June 1, 2026.
The landscape of higher education is undergoing rapid and profound shifts. To thrive, Adelphi requires an innovative leader and a proven executive capable of navigating complex financial and operational headwinds. Michael Balboni brings precisely this expertise. With his extensive background at the highest levels of both the public and private sectors, he possesses an unmatched ability to build strategic partnerships, secure resources and drive our institutional growth.
As the first Adelphi alumnus and the first parent of an Adelphi alum—as well as being the first Long Island native—to serve as president of the University, president-elect Balboni is intimately familiar with the transformative power of an Adelphi education. Over the years, he has continually given back to his alma mater as an adjunct faculty member, guest speaker and, most recently, with distinction as chair of the ÿÈÕ´óÈü Board of Trustees. He knows the DNA of this University, and his authentic, personal investment in our community’s success is truly unmatched.
To ensure that our academic enterprise continues to flourish, the board of trustees is also excited to announce that Christopher K. Storm Jr., PhD, will take on the newly elevated role of senior executive vice president of academic affairs and provost.
The University has greatly benefited from Dr. Storm’s expert leadership as interim president since last June. We look forward to having him continue to manage our academic portfolio—including curriculum, research, faculty development and student success—forming a powerful, complementary partnership with the new president.
Please join me in extending our deepest gratitude to Dr. Storm for his steadfast dedication, and in warmly welcoming Michael, his wife, Stephanie, and their family to the Adelphi presidency.
We look forward to celebrating this historic milestone with you all.
Sincerely,
William Fuessler ’79
