Before Graduation

On Campus Employment

Work on campus while enrolled full-time. Available immediately. Authorized by International Services.

Curricular Practical Training (CPT)

Off-campus work for academic credit. Available after one year (with restrictions). Authorized by International Services.

Pre-Completion OPT

Off-campus work in your field of study. Available after one year (limited to 12-months). Recommended by International Services. Authorized by USCIS.

Economic Hardship Employment

Off-campus work due to unforeseen circumstances. Available after one year. Recommended by International Services. Authorized by USCIS.

Special Student Relief

Off-campus work due to emergent circumstances. Available after one year. Recommended by International Services. Authorized by USCIS.

Volunteering

Civic or charitable service. Not an unpaid internship or related to your field. No authorization required.

After Graduation

Post Completion OPT

Full-time work in your field. 12 months per degree level. Recommended by International Services. Authorized by USCIS.

STEM OPT Extension

Additional 24 months for eligible STEM majors. Full-time employment with E-verify employer. Recommended by International Services. Authorized by USCIS.
